It’s been 50 years since The Rolling Stones performed “Mercy, Mercy” but on Wednesday night (July 3) they gave fans a huge surprise.

While on their No Filter tour, the band stopped at FedExField in Landover, Maryland (basically Washington, D.C.) where they treated the audience with their cover of the Don Covay & the Goodtimers classic. Before starting the song, frontman Mick Jagger announced, “It’s a long time ago, so we’re going to try to remember it.” A “long time ago” is no exaggeration…the last time they performed “Mercy, Mercy” was in 1969 at Hyde Park in London.

Mick proves he’s still got it, even after his recent heart surgery, with his smooth moves. If you don’t believe me, watch it yourself!
